In the laser cutting and laser engraving world, the quality of the laser machine really does make a difference to the work that it can produce. As does how the machines are maintained, set up and the experience of the operators. For these reasons we have invested in industry leading machinery and have a comprehensive maintenance and operational procedures. Which allows us to maintain the highest quality for every job, whether it be a one off bespoke piece or prototype, or a repeating production order of many hundreds or thousands of parts!
With 9 machines across our Studios, we can choose the most suitable laser for your work, or carry out larger projects and tight deadline work across multiple machines. We operate a production calendar system and can reserve laser time in advance to ensure we meet your deadlines. We aim for a 2-3 day turnaround, but are often booked a week or more in advance, so the sooner we are discussing your project, the better!
Our largest laser machine bed is a massive 3000mm x2000mm. Which is the size of the largest sheets of acrylic and plywood that are available. It has the ability to cut acrylic up to 20mm in thickness, or foam in 40-50mm, and it can of course laser full sheets of MDF and other proprietary boards. It can also raster engrave across the whole bed, so if you need to laser cut and engrave 3m x 2m, we can do it!
We have 2 more large format laser machines with bed sizes over 2400x1200mm and 4 medium format machines. Including specialist engraving lasers offering special effects such as 3D engraving and photo engraving, so if you have a laser job in mind, big or small, use our file uploader to send us the details ASAP.
Our Trotec Speedy 500 is an Austrian built, highly engineered cutting and engraving specialist. The quality of both laser engraving and laser cutting from this machine are really stunning! The 1246mm x 710mm max working area is one of largest bed sizes manufactured for high quality raster engraving. It also has a pass through (an opening out the back) meaning longer materials can also be accommodated, although we tend to use our larger laser machines for bigger work nowadays.
The manufacturers Trotec are considered the top of their game and for good reason. You could call them the Rolls Royce of lasers, but being they are Germanic, perhaps BMW or Mercedes would be a better comparison!
Our CadCam FB2400 laser machine, that we call Sean (don’t ask!) was a bespoke build and used to be our primary cutting machine. The large format laser bed 2400mm x 1200mm was specified by us to able to cut standard sized boards – 8ft x 4ft.
Sean is also fitted with a 150 watt power laser made by a company called Rofin – a German manufacturer who produce the finest laser tubes in the industry. Sean used to be the best we had but has now been surpassed by some of our newer and bigger lasers, but is still great to have as a backup.
Our Legend 36EXT ‘Legend’ laser machine is made by the renowned US laser manufacturers Epilog, and is a fantastic specialist engraver. Legend can cut, it’s great on paper and card. But but being we have so many laser cutters, it tends to get used mainly for the fantastic engraving it can do. Including 3D raster engraving and photo engraving.
Situated in our Camberwell studio, Our S400 (or Speedy!) is by far the fastest, most productive laser machine in the mid-format CO 2 plotter class. Leaps and bounds above anything else at this size. The quality of both laser engraving and laser cutting from this machine are really stunning! The 1000mm x 600mm max working area is one of largest bed sizes manufactured for high quality raster engraving.
It also has a pass through (an opening out the back) meaning longer materials can also be accommodated
We typically use the speedy for cutting thick materials up to 10mm at our Camberwell studio. We cannot cut MDF at our Camberwell studio- but we can cut this at our production studio for you.
