Your supply only. We don’t hold stock of any silk weave material. The fabrics gallery is to give an indication of how the laser reacts to different textiles. We recommend having your fabric sent straight to us from your supplier once a quotation is confirmed.

Silk is a natural protein fibre that has been woven into a textile. It is very delicate in strength and appearance. The shimmering silk characteristic is from the triangular prism-like structure of the silk fiber which refracts incoming light.
Laser cutting silk gives clean results where burn marks are usually non existent on the top surface. We cut fabrics on the engraving table or clean honeycomb bed which can also sometimes mark the underside of the silk.
The laser seals the edge to prevent fraying.
As a benchmark, we recommend that minimum cut widths be no thinner than 2mm. We can go smaller (see cut width image above) but this can make your fabric quite fragile which might not be suitable for the application. See more on cut widths and Kerf (how much the laser takes away.)
We don’t advise laser engraving silk. Because it is so thin, it is very difficult to maintain a consistent result and to prevent the laser from engraving all the way through.
You need to make sure you supply your silk as flat as possible. Try and make sure it is not crumpled, this can cause issues when cutting.
